In Christ Alone

Last year I had the pleasure of hearing Natalie Grant sing at a Women of Faith conference.  Although I totally love music, my days of listening to anything usually consist of a big purple dinosaur or princess music or kids praise, etc.  So.....the WOF conference was the first time I heard Natalie and she totally blew me away.  Not only was she adorable, but her voice was absolutely incredible!

That was last September and the 2 CD's of hers that I bought then are still in my car today and I listen to them constantly!  I've been thinking so much of what our pastor taught today and it reminded me of one of Natalie's favorite songs.  Just wanted to share the lyrics:

"In Christ Alone"

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fulness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

I love that song. Seriously, those words bring tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my arms every time I hear/read them. We serve a great and mighty God. Amazing.

ps- I told Sean every time I look at my sign I made, I'll be singing that song - he thinks I'm a dork...it's true, I am! :)

You don't know the power of those words in my world today. Our good friends baby's life is hanging in the balance. We are waiting to see what God will do. And that is what it all boils down to is Christ Alone. Thanks sis. Miss you, and love you even more. DeAnne

That's sooo funny, I was so confused-I knew that wasn't your mom! (lol) This is also one of my most favorite songs! It's great to READ the words once in while, for some reason they seem to stand out more. Thanks for the encouraging post!

Hmmm...i'm always happy whenever i listened to the song, i always feel i'm having enternal hope, cause i live in christ's death on the cross......the song is full of inspiration, i'm motivated especially when it comes to ".....up from the grave he rose again....". This is a challenge, can u suffer like this for someone and the result you got is far beyond what you expectin?...no!...as a human we all want great results from the little we've done. With this, lets all make JESUS happy for once by walking on the narrow way. HEAVEN AT LAST
