For Thanksgiving, we headed up to Yosemite in an RV for 5 days with a bunch of friends. It was such a great time! Unlike So Cal weather, it was actually cold and we were able to introduce our kids to "coats, gloves & hats." :) :) It actually felt like fall instead of a mild summery day....yeah for me!
Anyhow, we drove up half of the way on Monday night; spent the night in a Walmart parking lot and then headed up to Yosemite Tues-Sat. The kids had so much fun playing outside, getting dirty, going on bike rides.......plus having their daddy with them for several days in a row.
I think there were about 8 families total, each with lots of kids. Most of these families do this trip together every year and two years ago we joined them for the first time. You can click HERE to see pics of that trip.....and how small my kiddos were (sniff, sniff...). Our RV this year was bigger and much better than the last trip!
"We" (aka...the men) created this huge room out of about 6 easy-ups attached together and then an enormous tarp was thrown over the whole thing. There's a little door, several heaters, lights and lots of picnic tables. It's so warm under this tarp that no jackets are needed, even late at night. That's where everyone gathers in the evening, playing games and hanging out. A fire is going on right outside the tent for all the smores you want to eat.
On Thanksgiving day, we had lots of yummy turkey and everyone brought sides and desserts to share. And our special friends, Nate & Becky, were the biggest troopers as they decided to tent camp instead of RV camp. :) Yosemite is too beautiful for words and pictures don't describe how majestic it is. Such fun memories and great reminder of who our Creator really is!!!

Great pictures and story but where was Mom??? When you scrapbook Mom's are always missing because you are taking all the pictures. Make sure you are in pictures also. I have started to scrapbook a party and wonder if I was even there. So now I have Barry take a few pictures of me with the grandkids. At scrapbook crops we all laugh about the fact that we are never in the pictures. Loved seeing the children. They are really growing.

Oh My Word! Your ride was sweet! My babies are getting so big...I just love them to the end of the world. Davis' hair is so darling! It looks like you had a grand time. Maddy looks like she has really grown a lot since I last saw her. And Emma is such a doll. One of my favorite pictures of the whole lot is the one with Davis' riding his bike with his helmet on backwards! So funny. Love you all...XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

Holy Cow...it sure looks like you all had so much fun. Julie - your kids are SO beautiful!!! What wonderful pictures you took...and I agree with Aunt D - You need to be in at least 1 picture! :) So glad you had a great time!!! :)
RV huh...we're talking serious RV, that thing is a tank, it's like a semi!!! That's the way to camp. Beautiful pictures.
